When I first accepted the responsibility and privilege of being your mayor, I promised to bring my work ethic and passion for Martinsville to the mayor's office. Even with the challenges that were presented by Covid and the new interstate, we have remained focused on keeping our city operating, while looking for opportunities to serve our citizens and our local businesses.

During my first term, we have concentrated on improving our city though such projects as:

• Paving and resurfacing over 30 miles of city streets.

• Constructing miles of new sidewalks.

• Building the new music performance venue.

• Building the new phosphorus removal plant.

• Starting the sewer lining project.

Now as we look ahead, I'm confident that we can successfully meet the needs of the future by continuing our responsible fiscal policies, long-term strategic planning, and smart investments in our infrastructure.
